vinyl cutting

heres some pictures of the vinyl cutter in action cutting my banana logo out, then it being picked out in order to create the stencil, the stencil is then stuck onto a printing screen and its ready to go, theres a picture of the screen after we're done with it and just some of the many prints that we produced as a result.

some screen printing pictures

heres a couple of pictures of heating up the screens once they've been coated in the emulsion, once the emulsion has dried after about 20 or 30 minutes then they are ready to be exposed onto. this was the technique that we used to do leo's prints but mine were done using the vinyl cutter.

Screen printing

Yesterday me and a couple of others went to a studio to watch some screen printing and do some of our own, it was great fun and really interesting to learn, made me want a little space of my own and definitely got me thinking of all sorts of ideas i want to do with my work. the process was quite simple to follow but theres plenty to go wrong if you dont take care. The thing i liked most about the printing and the prints was the handmade rough finish it had, no 2 prints were the same and that really made it a unique way of doing things rather than just printing something out. We did both exposure prints and used a vinyl cutter to make a stencil to print with, both techniques had there pros and cons but it was the vinyl cutter that got me thinking about the things that i could do with stickers so thats given me some ideas for next week when we're going back.

printing

still yet to do my screen print i've been planing for but the designs have been hard for me to come up with, i want to stick with the banana theme but obviously that has its limitations, anyway this is a print that would be really simple but quite effective as a logo piece.

motion graphics

after working with paul on motion graphics it inspired me to do my own, no writing or anything on it yet but i was happy with how the colours and layout turned out because its how i had initially imagined it. The mirroring was inspired by some videos we watched in a cadd session that were done with a mirror and it showed it can be quite effective.

trying to digital paint again

not as happy with this one as i was my first, i think i was trying to blend colours too much and get things to polished and it dosent really suit the style of paintings I'm doing but its all practice so I'm happy i got myself to do it.

what i've been up to

For no reason what so ever i decided to start building a street corner in 3D, i suppose mostly to practice my 3D skills and i just wanted something in 3D for the end of the year that i could be proud of, still a working progress but I'm happy with how its looking.
